The light here is so strong, definitely a place for a painter to be. My new studio here is a traditional cave style house and at the moment I work on commission.
Meet Mario
A painting can begin in our hearts and minds and end up on canvas. Along with the external appearance of things we also depict their inward significance. There are times when a model and a painter unknown to each other become known through the painting.
A reproduction of an old painting may give us the impression that we met the old painter and his model and we became part and parcel of their lives, even though they lived in the distant past. In the end through this acquaintance it is our pleasure to see the emotions in someone's face when he looks at his portrait or some theme that is or was part of his life.
